Internship positions for summer 2019 are now available!

This program is designed to help Robert T. Kenney Scholars gain meaningful professional work experience, while giving local nonprofit agencies the extra assistance of a talented college student for the summer. Agencies apply to the American Savings Foundation for funding for these internships through a competitive proposal process.  Those selected receive a small grant to fund a paid summer internship for a current Robert T. Kenney scholar.

These positions are funded for an hourly wage of $13 per hour for 35 hours a week for a total of 9 weeks. Start and end dates may be flexible, but applicants must be available to fulfill the total of 315 hours. The hiring agency will be responsible for all screening, interviewing, and selection of candidates, and will have control over all hiring, training, payroll, and supervisory responsibilities regarding the intern.  Decisions about internships will not have any impact on any renewal application award decisions, which are made later in the summer.

If you have any questions about the paid summer internship program, contact Heather Hokunson at (860) 827-2572 or

Below are the positions for 2019. To apply you must submit the application form to Heather Hokunson by April 30.  Student applications are fowarded to the agencies as they are received.
