Title: Summer Programming Intern
Location: Hartford
Dates: 6/8 - 8/14 with flexibility
Hours: 30 hours/week, Monday through Friday
ReadyCT – a nonprofit organization that designs and delivers dynamic learning experiences that inspire and equip Connecticut students to achieve career success by connecting schools, businesses, and communities – is seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable summer programming intern to support the planning, implementation, and close-out of our major summer internship program, Get Ready Immersive Traineeship (G.R.I.T.).
G.R.I.T. provides Connecticut high school students with applied, career‑connected learning tied to their academic‑year pathways. Interns work in teams with local business partners (e.g., Travelers, Hartford HealthCare) on real‑world projects. Additionally, G.R.I.T. interns receive career readiness training. Collectively, G.R.I.T. interns leave the experience with STEM‑focused skills, professional experience, a quality resume, and strengthened portfolio and network. For summer 2025, ReadyCT served over 200 interns, many of whom successfully completed G.R.I.T. internships.
The intern will provide critical administrative and operational support across the full lifecycle of the summer program, from pre-program preparation to in-program support and post-program close-out. The position includes ongoing supervision and mentorship.

The successful applicant may have an opportunity for some remote work time. This will be assessed with the successful applicant and will take into consideration the adequacy of internet connectivity and appropriateness of available working space
The intern will gain hands-on experience supporting a large-scale internship program through coordination, data tracking, compliance, and professional communication in a growing nonprofit that prioritizes strong culture and invests in its people.
This position is a strong fit for students interested in nonprofit management, public administration, human resources, business operations, education, or workforce development, and for those exploring careers in program coordination or operations.
Preference for students who are detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable jumping in and learning quickly in a fast-paced environment. Reliability and clear communication skills are also preferred. Familiarity with admin tasks, Google Workspace, and handling sensitive information is a plus, but not required.
