Since 1968, Friendship Service Center (FSC) has been a pillar of support for people at-risk of or experiencing homelessness, providing a wide range of services from an emergency shelter and community kitchen to supportive housing and comprehensive case management. In early 2023, FSC deepened its commitment to those in need with the opening of Hope Connection Center in New Britain.
Located at 61 Arch Street, Hope Connection Center (HCC) is a lifeline for individuals and families facing homelessness. Designed as a drop-in space rather than a shelter, HCC offers immediate essentials like showers, laundry facilities, and clothing, while also linking visitors to vital resources such as shelter, housing, case management, healthcare, mental health services, and job training.

The impact has been remarkable. In just its first six months, the Center served over 348 households, a testament to the urgent need for its services. By partnering with organizations like New Britain EMS, Community Mental Health Affiliates, and American Jobs Center, FSC ensures that every visitor receives meaningful support tailored to their individual needs.
Whether someone is stopping by for open access hours or referred for an appointment by 2-1-1, Hope Connection Center stands as a testament to FSC’s mission: Our work is ‘Love Made Visible”.
HCC is open Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM year round; between December 1- March 31, HCC is open 7:00 AM-7:00 PM daily as a part of a coordinated regional response to cold weather.
