June 2022 Letter from the Chairman and President CEO
June 24, 2022
Halfway through 2022, it’s clear that this new year did not usher in a “return to normal” but rather ongoing and ever-changing challenges. Throughout the 64 towns we serve, we continue to see our nonprofit partners, families, and young people in the community show remarkable resilience through these truly unprecedented times. Hopefully, these disruptions will also bring forth new and unique opportunities for the communities we serve.
This year, the American Savings Foundation is undertaking a strategic planning process, setting strategic goals for next 5 years. We are not exploring any major changes to our mission or funding priorities. Rather, we are interested in learning how we can better meet the changing needs of the community and nonprofits as we all navigate through uncertainty.
We want to extend a sincere thank you to all the nonprofit partners, community leaders, parents, and young people who have shared your time and unique perspective with us. Through five community roundtables, a series of surveys to current and past grantseekers, community interviews, and informal conversation, we hope to learn the answers to three questions:
We know that needs in the community will continue to evolve, and we will continue to evolve to meet those needs. At the same time, we will continue to invest in the people and organizations that make our community strong. That is our lasting commitment.
