Title: STEM Educator Intern
Dates: Start and end dates are flexible according to schedule of student – Approx. June 22nd – August 21st
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 A.M to 4:00 P.M. 1/2 hr. paid lunch break
The intern will assist NBYM, Hungerford teaching staff with Sisters in Science Summer STEM/ Science camp programming and other summer programs at the Nature Center and Museum as needed. It is planned that the Youth Museum’s professional teaching staff will be conducting a four week, all day Inter-district Sisters in Science STEM program, this summer for girls entering 6th and 7th grade in addition to the Museum’s summer classes for Pre –K through 3rd grade.
Advance their knowledge and training for careers in teaching, science social work or technology. Interns will also develop skills necessary to employment in any field. They will participate in staff meetings, work in teams to accomplish goals and objectives and learn the responsibilities of an employee working a full-time schedule.
Individual should be studying for a degree in a scientific field, education, social services or have an interest in working with children. Previous experience working with children is helpful and the individual should be comfortable working around a variety of animals.
